This Privacy Policy explains how ApyWise (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use the ApyWise application and website (the “Service”). We are committed to processing your data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable data protection laws.
1. Who we are (Data Controller)

2. What data we collect

We do not connect to your bank or brokerage; all financial figures are the ones you manually enter to track your own portfolio.
3. Why we use it and our legal basis
- To provide the Service (create your account, store and display your portfolio) — legal basis: performance of a contract.
- To secure and maintain the Service (authentication, abuse prevention, debugging) — legal basis: legitimate interest.
- To contact you about your account (e.g. password reset) — legal basis: performance of a contract.
Providing your Account data (email and password) is a contractual requirement necessary to use the Service. Without this data, we cannot create or manage your account.
4. How your data is stored and shared
We use the following categories of service providers strictly to operate the Service:
- Cloud hosting & infrastructure providers — store your data and run the application.
- Content delivery network — serves the application to your browser.
- Exchange-rate provider — supplies currency conversion rates (no personal data is sent to it).
We do not sell your personal data or share it for advertising purposes.
All data transferred between your browser and our servers is encrypted in transit using industry-standard protocols (HTTPS/TLS).
We do not use your personal data for automated decision-making or profiling.
5. International transfers
If any processor stores data outside the European Economic Area, such transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards (e.g. EU Standard Contractual Clauses).
6. How long we keep your data
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account from the Profile page, your personal data and portfolio are removed. Backups may be retained for up to 30 days before permanent deletion.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- correct inaccurate data;
- erase your data (“right to be forgotten”);
- receive your data in a portable format;
- restrict or object to certain processing;
- lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. You can delete your account and all associated data yourself at any time from the Profile page.
8. Cookies and local storage
ApyWise uses only strictly necessary browser storage: an authentication token to keep you signed in and your chosen interface language. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies, so no cookie-consent banner is required.
9. Children’s privacy
Our Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, we will take steps to delete it.
